Fun Fact - It was a raining night in Fishkill, NY back in May of 2000. Marist College played Fairfield in the MAAC Championship baseball game. Marist went down early in the game and in the top of the third inning the score was 4-0 with bases loaded and only two outs. Coach John Szefc of Marist at the time, who is currently the head coach of Virginia Tech had a major decision to make that night. He called on me who was a pitcher in a high pressured moment to stop the momentum and allow our team to get back into the game. This decision proved to be right as we won the game 11-5 and moved on to the NCCA Tournament in Lafayette, Louisiana. I was named to All-Tournament team was recognized as the 1st Marist pitcher to record the 1st MAAC Championship Win and 1st NCAA Tournament Win for Marist University.
